Appointment
An appointment is the act of designating an individual for an office or position. The Secretary of State of a particular state could appoint an individual to become a Notary Public which is an example of how to use the verb form of the word appointment. Another usage of the term appointment in a notary context, is when a notary agrees to schedule notary work with a signer at a particular time.
